If you're looking for a nature-filled view in Vang Vieng, Nam Xay Viewpoint is a good option. To catch the view here, we arranged for a tuk-tuk and, along with a few others who also wanted to see the viewpoint, we hit the road at 5 a.m.

Nam Xay Viewpoint

After about a half-hour drive, we got out of the tuk-tuk and began walking towards the hill. It was still dark when we arrived, and although the short hike was a bit challenging for me, we reached the summit in about half an hour.

Nam Xay - Sunrise and Mist

When we got to the top, we saw the sunrise and the mist covering the valley below. The mist, along with the hot air balloons, added a unique atmosphere to the scene. There was also an old motorbike and a flag placed there for photos. The view revealed an area surrounded by rice fields and mountains.

The climb to Nam Xay is a short but steep path. The view from the summit generally makes the effort worthwhile. If you'd like to watch the sunrise while in Vang Vieng, this hill is a good place to visit.
